James Island Arts - Directory of Artists

Mixed Media

Kelly Kane-Wood’s Etsy store handles a wide variety of hand-crafted items ranging from iPhone cases to handmade soaps, scarves, tile trivets, and upcycled art objects inspired by her love of the Lowcountry seashore.

Kit Loney is a visual artist and poet whose art includes woven tapestries and handmade books, and small paintings in the Contemporary Carolina Collection at MUSC. She lives on James Island and teaches at Fort Johnson Middle School.

Natalie Taylor’s current series is a nostalgic blending of her dad’s stories of childhood adventures fly-tying and fly-fishing on the rivers of Norway, and her mother’s support, encouragement, and inspiration. These flies are special little representations of the light and love she tries to cast into the world.

Alice Toler has worked as an artist in the Carolinas, Florida and the U.K. in paintings, murals, and sculpture. Her newest work is painted shoes—on the move, walking around the world, not just hanging on the wall.
